History of Batik Betawi Terogong

BATIK BETAWI TEROGONG berdiri pada tanggal 5 September 2012. “Terogong” diambil dari nama suatu kampung di wilayah Kelurahan Cilandak Barat, Jakarta Selatan yang sampai saat ini masih dihuni oleh mayoritas Masyarakat Betawi. Batik Betawi Terogong didirikan oleh sekelompok keluarga Betawi yang peduli terhadap survive-nya kebudayaan Betawi di tengah-tengah Jakarta yang cosmopolitan.

“BATIK BETAWI TEROGONG was founded on September 5 2012. “Terogong” is taken from the name of a village in the Cilandak Barat sub-district area, South Jakarta which is still inhabited by the majority of Betawi people. Batik Betawi Terogong was founded by a group of Betawi families who care about the survival of Betawi culture in the middle of cosmopolitan Jakarta.
